I miss going for drives, no destination in mind, no eyes glancing at the clock for fear of being late.
I miss the windows rolled down and the wind playing with my hair.
I miss the stereo so loud it becomes my thoughts and I miss a smile so wide at the easiness of it all.
So let’s go. No destination in mind, let’s just get out of here. Let’s pretend we’re from some small town that we’re never going back to. I’ll wear those big glasses that cover half of my face and you can wear a dark scarf that waves goodbye to all that’s behind us.
Make me an empty promise and tell me we’re never going back.
Let’s just go for a drive.
